About

Quotes at the intersection of money and life

ANYTHINX is a small library of original lines about money — and about the parts of a life that money is standing in for. It exists because almost everything written about personal finance is either arithmetic with no feeling in it, or motivation with no arithmetic in it. The interesting thing sits in between.

The work is narrow on purpose. Every line here is one or two sentences, and every one of them turns on a single word. Read the sentence, then read the word again — that second reading is the entire product. If a line only works the first time, it does not belong in the library.

There is no hustle here, and no promise that any of this makes you rich. Most of these lines are about the opposite: the cost of pretending, the price of speed, the specific tiredness of money you have already spent in your head. They are written to be honest first and quotable second, which is the harder order to do it in.

The four pillars

Every line belongs to one of four. A fifth thread, TIME, runs underneath all of them — because in the end every price on this site is quoted in hours.

On authorship

Every quote on ANYTHINX is original. Nothing here is scraped, re-attributed, or lifted from someone else and reworded — which is most of what a quote site usually is. If a line appears on this site, it was written for this site.

You are welcome to share any of it. The cards are free to download and free to post; a link back is appreciated and never required. Nothing on ANYTHINX sits behind an email address.
